Seriously!? 9 months?! It’s been since August 2024 when I last posted. While I have been watercoloring and creating art, I have not been writing about it. I have dropped on to my blog page several times, stared at it, spit out a sentence or two and then walked away.

I wasn’t holding my own interest. So why foist this onto you?

As I sit here, I am committed to finishing this post to jump over my”posting blockade.”

I am reminded that the mission of nlightn notecards is promote the handwritten note. Writing is part of the process. The watercolor brush meets the pen connected by the heart and the mind.

So to cross over to 2025, let me reflect on what I “did” creatively since August. I doodled a lot, honored the familiar and explored different techniques. Out of this, several watercolor images graduated to greeting card status:

I also played with the abstract and multi media. These following images were inspired by my travels to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I ended 2024 by agreeing to participate in a community art fair. Without going into the details, let me sum up this experience by saying it was illuminating, energizing, exhausting, joyful, mixed with anxiety and confidence. I am glad I did it. It provided me the opportunity to share my mission to encourage the handwritten note using handmade greeting cards.

Here’s to a new year of creating and exploration.
